Fintech & Financial Services

Financial software fails differently from other software. A bug does not produce a bad user experience, it produces a number that is wrong, and the wrong number propagates into reporting before anyone notices.

We build financial software where correctness and auditability are requirements rather than preferences: transaction processing, reconciliation, reporting and integration between core systems. Work includes the access controls, audit trails and tested restore procedures that financial auditors expect to see.

Financial software fails differently from other software. A bug does not produce a bad user experience, it produces a number that is wrong, and the wrong number propagates into reporting before anyone notices.

That changes how you build: reconciliation is designed in, every state change is logged, and the system is built so that an auditor can reconstruct what happened.

What tends to be hard

Reconciliation across systems

Payments, ledger and reporting each hold a version of the truth, and they drift. Reconciliation has to be automatic and continuous rather than a month-end exercise.

Audit trails that hold up

Every state change recorded with who, what and when, in storage that cannot be quietly amended.

Regulatory reporting

Reports that have to be right, on a deadline, in a prescribed format, from data spread across several systems.

Legacy core systems

Modernizing around a core that cannot be taken offline, which usually means an integration layer rather than a replacement.

We have delivered work in Fintech & Financial Services but do not have a published case study for it yet. We would rather say that than point you at something adjacent and let you assume. Ask us for references.

FAQ

Fintech & Financial Services — questions

Do you have experience with regulated financial systems?
We build to the controls auditors require — access logging, encryption at rest and in transit, data residency, retention policies and tested restores. We are engineers rather than auditors, so we work alongside whoever certifies you.
Can you work with our existing core banking system?
Usually through an integration layer rather than by replacing it. Replacing a core system is a multi-year programme, and most of the value can be delivered around it far sooner.
How do you handle data residency?
By configuring the engagement around it from the start: infrastructure in the required region, and where AI is involved, self-hosted models rather than provider APIs if data cannot leave your infrastructure.

Tell us what you are trying to build.

A thirty-minute call is usually enough to tell you whether we are the right firm for it. If we are not, we will say so and point you somewhere better.
