Custom Software Development

Systems built for your operation, not adapted to it.

Devinity builds custom software for companies whose requirements do not fit an off-the-shelf product. We take responsibility for architecture, engineering, testing and deployment, then stay on to maintain what we ship. Teams are small and senior, and the code is yours from the first commit.

Off-the-shelf software works until your process stops matching the product. Then you start paying for workarounds: spreadsheets beside the system, staff re-keying data, an integration that breaks every time the vendor ships an update.

We build the software that replaces that. Usually it is an internal system that runs a specific operation, a customer-facing platform, or a replacement for something that has become too expensive to keep alive.

What this covers

Web applications and SaaS platforms

Multi-tenant products with billing, roles, audit trails and the administrative tooling your team needs to run them without engineering support.

Internal business systems

Operations software shaped around how your business actually works: order management, scheduling, compliance, quality assurance, reporting.

API and integration layers

Services that sit between systems and keep data consistent, with contracts, versioning and monitoring rather than one-off scripts.

Legacy modernization

Migrating systems off frameworks and infrastructure that have become expensive to maintain, without a rewrite that stops the business for a year.

Mobile applications

iOS and Android built with Flutter or React Native where a shared codebase makes sense, and natively where it does not.

How we run it

How a Custom Software Development engagement works

  1. 01

    Scope

We map the process the software has to support, agree what the first release must do, and write down what it deliberately will not do.

  2. 02

    Architect

Data model, service boundaries, and the decisions that are expensive to reverse. You see this before anyone writes application code.

  3. 03

    Build

Two-week iterations against a working staging environment. You review real software, not slide decks.

  4. 04

    Harden

Load testing, security review, monitoring and alerting configured before launch rather than after the first incident.

  5. 05

    Operate

We stay on after release. Most of our client relationships are measured in years, not projects.

FAQ

Questions about Custom Software Development

How long does a custom software project take?
It depends on scope, but we aim to put something into production early rather than build for months without feedback. A first release covering the core workflow is typically the target, with the remaining scope delivered in iterations after it is live.
Do we own the code?
Yes. Source code, infrastructure and accounts are yours from the first commit. We build in your repositories and your cloud accounts wherever possible, so there is nothing to hand over at the end because it was never held elsewhere.
Can you take over software another team built?
Frequently. We start with a technical audit covering architecture, test coverage, dependencies and security, then give you an honest assessment of whether the right move is to continue the existing codebase or replace parts of it.
What happens after launch?
Most clients continue with us on a monthly basis covering maintenance, monitoring and continued development. If you would rather run it in-house, we document the system and support your team through the transition.
Which industries do you work in?
Logistics, ecommerce, real estate, healthcare, fintech, gaming and manufacturing, among others. The engineering problems repeat across sectors more than people expect, and we ask enough questions to learn the parts that do not.
