Cloud, Data & Platform

The infrastructure your software depends on.

We design and operate the infrastructure underneath your software: cloud architecture, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and the data platform your reporting depends on. Work covers AWS and Azure, containerized workloads, and migrations away from systems that have grown expensive to keep running.

Infrastructure gets attention when it fails. Before that it is invisible, which is how organizations end up with deployments nobody can reproduce, a database nobody has tested a restore from, and a monthly cloud bill nobody can explain.

We treat infrastructure as part of the product. Defined in code, monitored, and cheap enough that finance stops asking about it.

What this covers

Cloud architecture

AWS and Azure environments defined in Terraform, with separated environments, least-privilege access and a cost model you can read.

Deployment pipelines

Automated build, test and deploy with staging that matches production, and a rollback that has been rehearsed rather than assumed.

Monitoring and incident response

Metrics, logs and traces with alerts routed to people rather than an inbox nobody reads. Alert thresholds tuned so they mean something.

Data platform

Pipelines that move data from operational systems into a warehouse your analysts can query, with the transformation logic versioned and tested.

Cost reduction

Right-sizing, reserved capacity, storage tiering and removing what nobody uses. Most environments we audit have meaningful spend attached to nothing.

How we run it

How a Cloud, Data & Platform engagement works

  1. 01

    Audit

What is running, what it costs, what happens when it fails, and whether anyone has tested a restore. The findings are usually uncomfortable and always useful.

  2. 02

    Codify

Existing infrastructure moved into Terraform so environments can be reproduced instead of remembered.

  3. 03

    Automate delivery

Build, test and deploy without manual steps, so releasing stops being an event.

  4. 04

    Instrument

Monitoring and alerting configured against the failures that actually matter to your business.

  5. 05

    Operate or hand over

We run it for you, or document it and train your team to run it themselves.

FAQ

Questions about Cloud, Data & Platform

Can you reduce our cloud bill?
Usually, yes. The common causes are oversized instances, storage nobody deleted, environments left running overnight, and data transfer patterns nobody designed. We start with an audit that shows where the money goes before proposing changes.
AWS or Azure?
We work with both. The right choice usually depends on what your organization already runs, what your team knows, and any compliance requirements. We will not migrate you between clouds without a reason that survives scrutiny.
Do you handle compliance requirements?
We build to the controls your auditors require, including access logging, encryption at rest and in transit, data residency, and retention policies. We are engineers rather than auditors, so we work alongside whoever certifies you.
What does managed operation include?
Monitoring, incident response, patching, backup verification, and capacity planning, at an agreed response time. The scope is written down so there is no argument at three in the morning about whether something is covered.
Can you work with our existing DevOps team?
Yes. A common arrangement is that we handle a specific migration or platform build while your team continues day-to-day operations, then hand over with documentation and training.
